Does anyone know how to make pure sodium. I know how but what way would you reccomend. Has anyone ever made this before? POST PLEASE!

i think, and this is just if i remember right, that you do the following:

Put some salt in a pot, and put it over low heat, so it melts. this should take a while. stir it often. once its melted, go outside and run an electric current through it. pure sodium should collect at one of the wires. im probably missing something, or thinking about something else. oh yeah, dont breath the fumes when your running an electric current through it. they’re toxic. but look it up in the egg directory, cuz im not sure about this

that doesnt get you pure sodium. that gets you a basic sodium ion. if you can and your in collage of somthing just tell some nerd kid to get you some or youu will beat him up. but be carful because it is so reactant with water, they have to store it immersed in oil so it wont react with the water in the atmosphere.

my group "worlds biggest chemical equivelency list" specializes in homemade bombs and homemade chemicals and stuff. in the forum thers a section on making sodium and if u have any other questions u can ask them in the help forum heres the link

Thanxs, I seen all these things before. I just wanted to see if anyone else heard of the method i found. I’ll try it out and post an egg about it.

This guy made sodium and was just dropping it in water. The explosions are so cool.
