Spaggy, you better kiss your motherfucking ass goodbye.
This is strongly against the rules, get a mod to delete this, before the hands see it.

And for how long?
I say 30 days, 7 maybe, they don’t want to look too much like nazis, they’ll let one guy off and assume it fixes everything.

advertising.., it could allow people to escape their control and make them feel less empowered, 30 days sounds about right.

If the lavatory allusion we taken literally, sanitizing the entire site of waste matter members would remove a vocal minority and purge the site of a thousand unused accounts, many of which are throwaway duplicates.
I have been a member of many forums and Rotten Eggs has been the most lenient of all by way of enforcement of restrictions and limitations. Within forums which many members of this site could not possibly function as contributing members no matter the effort applied, permanent ban is swift and seldom negotiable.
Neither of the two sites you have listed are any different that Rotten Eggs in any significant way so far as I can determine. However, I would imagine that your behavior and activity on those sites would be vastly different than your performance here. Why is this so? Because you have a problem with the two authoritative figures here for what ever reason you deem important.
In the real world, suggesting that an employers competitors are perhaps superior in any way would certainly gain you no respect. And management may even take you to task over your grievances.
If the two sites you have identified are equal to, if not greater than, Rotten Eggs, please limit your activities to said sites. Additionally, should you already have an active account on one or both rival sites, it is obvious why your participation here is lacking. For you have divided your energy into thirds and have become a third rate member of each.

Colin, it seems to be a common misconception around here that people can only be active on one forum site at a time. I’m an active member of several forums and I find the time to post on each one.

Spags "participation" is not "lacking"
Also, the vocal minority you speak of is far greater than a minority.
In fact, the majority of the site isn’t happy with how its running right now.
This site used to be a LOT different, a place were you could unwind and post whatever, without the nagging inconveniance of the possibility of a ban, unless you really fucked up, in which case, you almost had to WANT to be banned.
Now it feels like a god damn highschool in here, rules, having to watch what you say around certain people, that relaxed atmosphere is gone, and it shows. Everyone is uptight, and even if we are over-reacting, its because we aren’t enjoying the site experience as much as we used to. These forums used to be home to flame wars, spam epidemics and other exiting events, in depth discussions on boarderline-explicit topics, things that couldn’t take place freely in a "highschool envirnment"
Slims expulsion has led to an increase in dissatisfaction, and possibly an uprising, if the aurthoritive figures continue as is. I have no problem with this, if thats how they want to run the game, thats how the members will play.
If you forcefully apply codes and rules to people, no matter how sensible and socially accpetable they are, they will rebel. Toss in a few bullshit rules, and there you have it, complete and utter disregard for ALL the rules, not just the bullshit ones. I would find it interesting to see someone who studied politics evaluate the social status of this website.

While it cannot be proven or disproved that his contribution level is lacking, his activity, in actuality, 1 nth of what it could be were his sole participation devoted to RE.
Since I have no problems with the current situation, there has been no limitation imposed upon me, and I always feel part of the majority (since I abide by guidelines and stipulations) opposition to my vocal minority is, by default, from the vocal minority.
I was not here at the time this site was a lot different. My preference is for the current state as I am enjoying myself very much. If this site was more relaxed in supervision then I doubt I would have remained very long.
The feeling of a high school environment has long faded from my memory and has been replaced by a more stringent arena – the work place. Not to mention taxes, bills, rent, authority and most anything else adults need to contend with. While I can sympathize with your loss of relaxed feeling within the site, has it occurred to you that your expectations have changed? Has your level of escapism grown beyond the confines of RE as it too has contracted under the pressures of outside authority?
Politics? Have you ever watch a few hours of parliament question time? We are not talking high school here. No, it is way more immature. RE is far beyond the inner workings of government by way of effective and qualitative administration.
Yes, applying too many codes of conduct with an exhausting list of rules and regulations will often cause an uprising. However, this usually results in many people being injured and the end result is no change.
Think about what you have said: push people around too much and they will retaliate. I hope that is a correct assessment of your statements. I agree with it totally. Likewise this also applies to the management. If the rules and regulations are continually being ignored, the management will retaliate too. It is human nature to oppose.
Lastly, it is usually the bystanders who cannot comprehend the extent of the interactions and causes of a conflict based on the outward consequences. If you are not totally involved within the problem, you are not totally aware of the underlying reasons. Usually.

Like you said, you aren’t a long term member, so I class you as one of the "uninformed bystanders"
We’re going to fight for the way the site used to be, because its in our nature. Whenever something happened that we didn’t like, we changed it.
Either though a spam attack (please note: I am not insighting anything), a few tactical deletions, or an uprising of members. Nothings ever stopped us before.

I would like to point out that my participation is lacking, not because of the other sites (where you would find my participation lacking as well) but because of a blend of not posting when i have nothing to say and being in Kuwait for a competition right now. So please, don’t talk as if you know what is happening.
I merely suggested those because on of the hands said that Weasel is only keeping this site up as a courtesy for us, so we might as well let him take it down by going somewhere where the SysOp cares about the site itself and is not just leaving it for the members to have somewhere to go. If Right_Hand was not lying to get us to shut up, then this is actually helping Weasel.
