whatever man, rap is way better than rock. rap has good beats and a good rythem. and it’s so much more fun to actually sing along with. when was the last time you went to the club and danced to rock music. girls dont shake their asses to rock music. a rock music club, what a lame place that would be. and rap doesn’t just talk about that stuff, sure it’s included in most songs but each song has it’s own hook. but whats the problem anyways? they rap about money cars hoes and clothes, whats better than that. rock talks about being depressed and how their girlfriends brok up with them, who wants to isten to that crap. and when are those stupid bands gonna find a new instrument to play (guitar and drums)WOW, old!!!!!!!! RAP RULES, get with the generation and learn to have fun

bull crap. have you ever tried to make a good beat before? it’s hard as hell, i used to make beats all the time but they never sounded really good like professional rappers. my friend is really good at making rap beats and it took him hours to recreate a simple oldschool easy-E beat. and i notice how you guys couldn’t really argue you point very well. rap=crap, well rock equals bull shit that is no fun to listen to. i might listen to rock if i was high and depressed or something, but people listen to rap when they want to get wild happy and go dancing. RAP 4EVER.

i never argued the politics of rap. in that case you are right, rap is very violent most of the time. but alot of the club songs are not so bad. but my point was mainly that rap is more entertaining to listen and dance to. most of the time nobody really listens to the words, they just get into the groove. their are alot of rappers that don’t rap about bad stuff and their are rappers that do rap about bad stuff but have nonviolent songs on their CD. and what are you talking about beat boxing for? beat boxing is where they make a beat with their mouth. making good beats on the computer takes real talent and knowlege of music to make it sound good. and it leaves more room to be creative in what you put into the beat because they use a variety of sounds.

firt of all. that was not a rap that you made, that was a nursery rhyme. and i have heard alot of classic rock, it is good music i agree. but it’s only good for just sitting down and relaxing, smoking weed to, being mello. sure their are some harder more exciting songs, but they aren’t played anymore in public. when I go out places i hear rap music, we dance to rap music and we get crunk with rap music. rap music is over all fun to listen to, it doesn’t matter whether you think it takes no talent or not. if LIL flip had made "game over" with a program in five minutes it would still be just as good and fun to listen to.
when your at a club or a party ((doesn’t have to be filled with blacks and wiggers)) and somebody puts on led zeplin, people would look around like wtf, who’s DJ. when game over comes on everybody jumps and get to the dance floor. and i sence a bit of racism coming from you, so what if people talk with slang and dress a certain way. their was a point where i would have agreed with you about acting black, but it’s gotten to the point where slang and dress in regional not racial. city kids act different then country kids and (suburban kids, are just mixed depending on what they like) .i just get along better with kids that like rap, rock kids are all really wierd and grungey where i live.
--final thought-- it just depends on what type of person you are. some people are mello and relaxed. some people look for excitment. different types of music appeals to different people. im just gonna let it go for now on and let the ignorant people bitch about the opposite side of the argument.

well im glad that you guys have admitted that you are completly wrong in every way and that i was right. well it was implied. right? i dont want to put words in your mouth,or fingers, whatever. no just kidding. to tell you the truth i used to hate rap also. mainly for the exact reasons you guys dont like it. but the more i listened to different rappers the more i accepted the music it’s self. it was definatly an aquired liking for me. well this would be the first time i’v ended a rap vs rock topic without threatning to kill somebody in a violent rage(well not that bad). but the only clubs that play techno are extacy clubs and those hard drug addicts are more wierd than the slipnot kids. anyways, try going to a club one time that plays rap, the girls might change your mind about not liking it.

just because a girl goes to the club and dances with people doesnt make her a slut. most girls i know like to go to the club and dance sometimes but they aren’t sluts. they are just regular girls that you got to work for to get in the pants or go out with. i have met a few girls at the club and none of them were whores, alot of girls just like rap music and like to dance.

Rap is the disco of our time. Now that years have passed, one can look at disco for what it was: cheesy music that’s fun for dancing. But, in its day, disco was seen as the end of or rock and roll.
But, like a fecal log after 10 days, disco passed.
As will rap.

It all depends on the situation and environment. It’s like asking if I like Funyuns or Cheetos better. It depends on what kind of mood I’m in, how and what I’m intoxicated with, and what sounds good at the time. Rappers are notorious for ridiculous drug use, which ends in a genre that is almost shaped for the partying, inebriated state. Granted, some rock bands are also notorious for drug use, but personally I’d rather give myself an enema with a fork before listening to the Beatles. There’s just something about blastin’ rap through subs in a vehicle. The same feeling can’t be achieved with rock. Also, like most things, whether I like them or not, I have to give props for skill. I don’t give a fuck what the majority of you say, no one can walk into a studio and throw down an even remotely good beat. And rap’s here to stay for a while, so I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss it as neo-disco. Now on the rock side, I love rock, always have. Metal has the ability to control my moods. Some is depressing, others are aggressive, and others just mesmerize me. From Cannibal Corpse, to Golden Earring, to Mudvayne, to Primus, to the Offspring, I do indeed love rock. In the end, it’s all about the mood.

Yeah country is like rap but with some guy playing guitar in the background. All the contry artists live in california and all drive mercedes. It was better when they were all in the south and writing and playing their own music.

music:
Noun
1. The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre. 2. Vocal or instrumental sounds possessing a degree of melody, harmony, or rhythm.
From The American Heritage Dictionary.
Not only does the first definition completely disprove your definition of music, Moto, but even the second definition clearly states, "Vocal or instrumental sounds..." Make damned sure you have a rock solid argument before you even try to contradict me. So when you can come back with a logical and well-thought-out rebuttal, I suggest thinking twice before attempting to argue with me.

thats so funny. i was getting mad at the definition he gave for music and then i stumbled upon the real definition. but you rap haters have a point/ where do these black people get the idea that they can make a different type of music! they dont even use guitars of try to sing like the rest of us. everything they do is different, even the stuff they talk about is different. and my god, they even dress completly different than rock musicians.this is crazy that these black people can come in and make something so different and have white people who like it also. somebody should call hitler and turn them into all white blonde hair blue eyed people with the same views, likes and dislikes as everybody else. thats what should be done for sure!
